The Snow Princess is the 3rd book in the Worldsea Era epic adventure. Another great read by Matt Larkin! Although this book can stand on it's own, if you haven't read the first 2 books in the series I would highly recommend that you do so!Sisters and daughters of a god, each guardians of their own islands, it has always been unheard of through the generations for princesses to meet, taboo even!
In this tale, ice meets flame and sea! We learn about Poliahu, the snow princess,her unusual upbringing, her feelings of being abandoned by her parents and getting lost in the practice of "the Art" that requires a heavy price. Poliahu meets Namaka, the Princess of the Sea, when Namaka comes to her island in search for the wereshark king, Kauhuhu, in hopes of obtaining his aid in the war. Poliahu meets Pele, the Flame princess, when she shows up to help Namaka. Their meeting doesn't go well and ends in an avalanche! All Poliahu wants is to be left alone.... will she learn the price she has paid for her Art?
Will the princesses come together in the end or is the price too high for them all?

Another interesting & enjoyable book from the Seaworld series!
Yet another fantastic book in the Worldsea collection!!! I have grown to admire and sometime admonish these petulant princesses as they grow and develop through each book. Can't wait to meet them all, 3 down, 4 to go. Keep up the good work Matt!!!!
A very enjoyable read. I read it in one sitting. It was gratifying to see the princesses finally work together to accomplish their goals looking forward to see how they recover that which was taken. Thank you so much.
I received a copy of this book in return for a honest review. The snow princess is the next installment of the World Sea Era series. It picks up where a great evil has taken over the sea and the Princesses of the islands have to come together to defeat him. However the snow Princess isn't one for the sister hood, and they soon find out that coming together will be harder than they think. I gave this book 4 stars, it is a quick and very interesting read. I highly recommend this book, for anyone teen and up.
The Snow Princess (The Worldsea Era Book 3) is a story about rivality between the "Princesses" of the Hawaiian Islands. I was provided a free copy of this eBook to read by Matt Larkin in exchange for a review. This book was my first read of any of Matt Larkin's books. When I first started reading this book I found it difficult to follow the storyline because I was not familiar with the mythological creatures. I found it some what interesting, but it was not an attention grabber for me. However, I feel that a younger reader who is into stories about mythological creatures would probably enjoy this series.
In a continuation of 'The Seventh Princess' and 'The Burning Princess' 'The Snow Princess' has Namaka still trying to find a way to defeat the he'e and their god-king Kanaloa. She decides that she should see if the nanaue [weresharks] would help the mer battle the he'e and their giant jellyfish. To that end she went to the Friendly Isle to find Kauhuhu, the nanaue king. Learning from her mistake with Pele on the Big Isle, she seeks out the Snow Princess, Poliahu, to ask permission to find the nanaue on her island.
Pele, sensing that Namaka could use help, has Kamapua'a get a boat and sail them to the Friendly Isle to find her. They arrive right after Poliahu places the curse on Namaka and they do what they can to help her, then and later.
As the battle to rid Hiyoya of the he'e comes to a head all the main players are brought together in the middle of the ocean. It is uncertain if Namaka, the mer and the nanaue will be able to defeat Kanaloa, the he'e and their allies. Pele, Kanaloa, and Poliahu are floating above the battle uncertain how, if at all, they can help. In spite of this coming together, by the end of the book the good feelings are replaces with hatred and envy.
This is a fast paced book with many twists and turns. It will grab your attention and not let you go. It does end on a cliff hanger and I am really looking forward to the next book.
The Snow Princess is the third book in Matt Larkin's The Worldsea Era series. While this book can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend that you read the books prior to this one so you fully understand the storyline as it continues from where The Burning Princess (Book 2) ended. Please note there is violence and sexual reference in this book and may not be suitable to sensitive readers.
Poliahu is the Snow Princess. At the age of 9 she was identified as the Snow Princess and she left her family and was sent to the snow goddesses for training. While some princesses walk among the people who live on their island, she has stayed up on her mountain for 20 years training and practicing her "art". When she does and binds a spirit to herself, she also loses something of herself. Sometimes it's a memory (but never knows what memory it was she lost) or a piece of her soul. Do the snow goddesses want something more from her?
She is surprised when the Sea Princess (Namaka) comes to her island and mountaintop to seek her permission to search for the weresharks on her island to help take back the Mer city. Then the Fire Princess (Pele) comes to aid Namaka. All Poliahu wants is to be left alone and continue to work her art. Will the Princesses ever learn to work together and trust each other?
Matt Larkin has created a Polynesian type world rich with humans, mermaids, sea dragons, and many other creatures. I have enjoyed the series so far and I look forward to reading future books in this series.
