He’s the one who walked away...
Dare Davis, one of the four owners of Pier 70 Marina, has been living the past fifteen years of his life not taking risks. He considers himself fearless because he refuses to let anyone close enough to hurt him. He’s had his heart broken before, he’s not looking for it to happen again.
He’s the one who let love slip through his fingers...
Noah Pearson, thirteen-year veteran of the Austin Fire Department, finds himself being roped into a favor by his mischievous stepsister. When Milly invites him to come along on a cruise to the Caribbean, he finds himself giving in. What he doesn’t know is that Milly’s playing matchmaker. However, Milly’s surprise backfires when Noah finds himself front and center with the man who slipped through his fingers fifteen years ago.
Some people believe in second chances.
Things heat up when the mischievous, fun-loving bad boy comes face to face with this smoking hot firefighter.
Now that Dare and Noah find themselves sharing a room on a week-long cruise, can they find a way to keep the peace and ignore their past? Or – thanks to the decisions they made long ago – will they come full circle, picking right back up where they left off?

Reckless wasn't all that impressive for me and unfortunately, neither was this. I guess my tastes have changed since I first read Nicole Edwards other series, which were actually one of the reasons I switched to reading just MM. This book, like the first, are just erotic romance, no added external events or issues. And I ended up feeling they were tedious and irritating to read.Dare and Noah had a two year relationship while they were young. Dare wanted forever, Noah wanted to maintain status quo, and they had exchanged I love you's. Noah says the wrong thing and Dare walks out while Noah sleeps and they never see or speak again for 15 years. Okay, fine, but apparently they weren't content to just carry a little baggage into a future relationship. They both packed a full matched set of luggage and clung to it, allowing it to prevent any future chances. Who does that? We almost all have a "one that got away". I doubt that many hang onto the memory that hard. So, one down for realism.
When they see each other again, now that they are 34 and 38, and supposedly more mature, do they have a mature conversation about it? Of course not! They throw sexual taunts at each other and run hot and cold every time they stet close to anything important. For days and days, trapped on a ship. Rinse and repeat. I wanted to throw them both overboard and go on a shore excursion. Alone. So another one down for rank stupidity and immaturity.
Then they lose another one, because any and all conversation after that was accompanied by sex. So they were always short conversations. Add to that, all of this was started because of Milly the matchmaker maven. Even if she didn't know they knew each other before. She can't even run her own love life. Leave everybody else alone, bitch!
Was it well written and edited for what it was? Yes, so plus one. Did I like some of the sex scenes? Yes, so that's 2. Did I like the wedding scene? Yes, that makes three. And that is all. I really don't think I'll continue this series.

Fearless Pier 70 Book 2 edition by Nicole Edwards Romance eBooks Reviews
I’m getting to the Pier 70 books with perfect timing. The 4th book in the series will be coming out at the end of March. Well, I read the first book in the series in January but there were other books between the 1st and 2nd book in this series in my Nicole Edwards reading challenge.
I’ve discovered that, although the first book in the series isn’t going to keep me reading a series if it’s not good, it is seldom the best book overall. (I mean that about all authors and series, not just this one.) That was once again the case here. I really enjoyed my read of Reckless, but Fearless is even better. I think it has to do with authors having a lot of characters to introduce in the first of a series.
Going into this book, I already knew Dare had some mysterious first love from back in the day that he never discussed. I was excited that I would get to meet the mystery man in this story. And hubba-hubba (do people still say that or is that just a Happy Days thing?), I’m sure was glad to meet Noah. No wonder Dare never got over the man! I’m not just talking about looks here either. In fact, I love that both Dare and Noah thought about how much the others body had changed over 15 years. Because we all know, no matter how gorgeous a man is in his late teens and early 20’s, men really don’t finish filling out until they’re a bit older.
There were a few times I thought I was close to getting annoyed by Dare and Noah not expressing their true feeling to each other. Where I understand the fear they each had about diving back into a relationship with each other, I wasn’t a fan of how they sometimes acted while trying to deal with their feelings. But just when I was ready to throw my hands up in frustration, the author reined them back in and gave me what I wanted. Nicole Edwards knows when to tone down the conflict and when to ramp it back up. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that in stories like this.
It’s always enjoyable when there is more to a story than you first think. That is the case here with aftermath of the breakup that happened 15 years ago. From the beginning we are allowed into Dare’s head and we understand why he did what he did and how it shaped his current life. Not so with Noah, and there’s more to his story of letting Dare go all those years ago than first meets the eye. That alone helped make this a great story. It throws so many more feelings into the mix.
As with most of this author’s books, the reader gets a peak into the lives of the other side characters. From the very beginning I was intrigued by Hudson and Teague. Now I’m even more anxious to read their story and I’m beyond glad it’s the next one up!
Another great book by Nicole Edwards! If you like romance books of the M/M variety, you will LOVE this series. They are all standalone but I like reading them in a series to be able to know all of what is going on with the men at Pier 70!
Dare, being the light-hearted jokester at Pier 70 thought this cruise was going to be loads of easy going fun with his friends, no drama involved. When Noah showed up on the cruise as Milly's step-brother, his heart dropped and his emotions were all over the place.
Nicole crafted this book beautifully. She was able to work out those emotional scenes and make them so believable. Nothing was rushed. Dare and Noah were allowed to really live and feel each emotion just as a real living breathing person would. That is one of the things I LOVE about Nicole's writing; she makes each scene REALISTIC and you FEEL what the characters are going through. Sometimes you cheer for the character and sometimes you want to punch them in the arm and wake them up to make them see they are being so DARN STUBBORN! But, the scenes are real, emotional and never rushed just to get to a sex scene.
BUT WHEN YOU GET TO A SEX SCENE!
HOLD ON TO YOUR VIBRATOR! They are hot! )
Both Dare and Noah have dirty mouths, but especially Dare! OMG! And I love it! These boys are switches, so they take turns with who leads the show, but, Nicole can write SCORCHING HOT sex scenes, whether they are loving and tender or down and dirty pounding hard scenes.
The whole plot line was so well developed with a few twists that I was NOT expecting. Nicole knows how to keep us on our toes and the book was so hard to put down, but sleep got the best of me and I found myself waking up with kindle in hand in the morning.
I have can hardly wait for the next book in this series, Speechless, Teague and Hudson's story!
Great job, Nicole...As always!
